Halal Expert Drops Bombshell on Meat Industry… Guess What’s in Your Freezer Right Now

According to Pamela Geller, a conservative activist and Halal Expert, much of the meat purchased in grocery stores by everyday Americans happens to be halal.

“A great deal of meat sold in this country is halal but is not labeled is such,” she wrote for her website, PamelaGeller.com. “It’s a scandal — but an established practice: meat packers generally do not separate halal meat from non-halal meat, and do not label halal meat as such.”

Halal refers to an Islamic form of animal slaughtering that involves killing the beast by cutting its jugular vein, carotid artery and windpipe, according to the BBC News. Some people dislike this form of animal slaughtering for a variety of reasons, and as such, Geller believes halal meat should be labeled.

“This is strictly a false labeling and consumer choice issue,” she argued. “Religious people — Jews, Muslims, and others — should have the freedom to have meat and poultry products produced in a way that meets their needs.”

Likewise, those consumers who prefer not to consume ritually slaughtered meat should “have a right to sufficient labeling information,” she added.

So in 2012, Geller’s organization, the American Freedom Defense Initiative, filed a petition with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, asking that a regulation be implemented requiring that halal meat be labeled. It seemed fair, since kosher meat is also labeled.

Four years have passed since the petition was filed, yet halal meat still remains unlabeled across America. Additionally, during the Obama administration, Geller’s petition was reportedly removed from the FSIS website. Why? One word: Islamophobia.

The problem with this is that by putting the feelings of Muslims over the concerns of everybody else, the administration has made itself look like advocates for Islamic supremacy
